The Over 50’s Club

The Over 50’s Club – led by Jane Clarke and Rita Bowdery – usually meets every Monday in All Saints’ Church Hall, Norman Road, Wimbledon beginning at 12.30.p.m.

The Club – pictured above on its opening day – is affliliated to the Wimbledon Guild, and was founded in November 1949. It was officially opened by the Mayor of Merton on Valentine’s Day of the following year.  Under its first leader, Miss. W. Arnold, it originally met in the Institute (the building almost opposite the church hall) and was the sixth club of its kind to be opened. It has been going strong ever since

Attractions include Lunches, Bingo, Raffles, Outings and Holidays. The club also supports All Saints’ Church in a variety of ways including donations towards the children’s flowers for Mothering Sunday.

If you are interested in joining this popular and lively group please get in touch.

‘Open Church’

On most Friday mornings from 9.00.a.m. until 12 noon, the church is open.

You are welcome to join us for a chat over a cup of coffee, for somewhere to sit quietly or just to take the opportunity to look around our church and take in some of its history.

The Quiet Garden is also open and can be reached either via the flat path to the rear of the church, or via the church itself.

The Quiet Garden (Affiliated to the ‘Quiet Garden Movement’)

Situated in a corner bordered by the church hall and the south wall of the church, our Quiet Garden is a space for quiet reflection or prayer. It is open on most Fridays from 9.00.a.m. – 12 noon, whenever there is a service in church, or at other times by appointment. Entrance is via the flat path at the west end of the church or through the church itself.

The garden was constructed by members of the congregation and was blessed and dedicated by the Bishop of Kingston on March 20th 2019

Wednesday Working Party

The ‘Wednesday Working Party’ meets on most Wednesdays at the church from 9.00.a.m. until 12 noon.

We tackle many of the smaller jobs that need doing around the church, as well as tending the green spaces around the building.

Coffee and biscuits are provided half-way through the morning and anyone who would like to join us would be most welcome.
